Concept Selection and Initial Prototype

The designs were organized into a concept matrix seen below. A list of selection criteria was then defined and weighted out of 100%. These criteria were interpreted by referencing the interview based customer needs. Each concept was given a rating for each of the selection criteria which translated into a weighted score for each individual category. The weighted scores were then added to give total scores for each design which were ranked highest to lowest.  The Standing Concept, or "Concept 5" in the concept selection matrix,  received the highest score with a 3.58/5, making it the selected concept to proceed with future development. While this concept will serve as the basis for design, it is still subjected to change based on further research and development.
